This two-day seminar is exclusively designed for Medical Assistants (Penolong Pegawai Perubatan, PPP) to strengthen core competencies in comprehensive wound management. The programme focuses on essential wound care fundamentals that are proven to enhance clinical outcomes and elevate the quality of care delivered in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
Participants will be guided through the principles of wound healing, from inflammation to remodeling, followed by a structured approach to wound bed preparation using the TIME framework. The seminar emphasises comprehensive wound assessment skills, including identification of wound type and aetiology, depth evaluation, exudate level, early detection of infection, and accurate pain assessment.
The course further introduces effective and cost-conscious dressing selection protocols, supporting decision-making that aligns with facility resources and clinical needs. In addition, participants will gain insight into infection prevention strategies and best practices in clinical documentation, ensuring treatment continuity, patient safety and standardisation of care.
Delivered through a combination of keynote lectures, hands-on practical stations and case-based discussions, this seminar provides a highly engaging and practice-focused learning experience — empowering PPPs to become more confident, skilful and competent in wound management.
